Greece takes the Sustainable Transport and Tourism portfolio
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced her proposal to the European Parliament for the composition of the new European Commission for a five-year term of office (2024-2029), with the Greek proposed Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas taking the portfolio of Sustainable Transport and Tourism.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced her proposal to the European Parliament for the composition of the new European Commission for a five-year term of office (2024-2029), with the Greek proposed Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas taking the portfolio of Sustainable Transport and Tourism.

He will be responsible for the mobility of goods and people in the European Union, "areas that are essential for competitiveness,"  said von der Leyen.

The re-elected Commission President's proposal includes six Executive Vice Presidents. Among them, the French Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné is proposed for the portfolio of industrial strategy, while the Italian Raffaele Fito is proposed for the portfolio of cohesion and reforms.
