The Athens Stock Exchange continues to move sideways, with investors engaging in cautious positions, continuing the image of... introversion.
The Greek market, in this way, remains trapped for yet another day in the narrow range of 1,400–1,450 points, unable to escape the entrenched image of prolonged caution.
Interest, however, is turning to the rebalancing of the FTSE Russell indices, with Cenergy taking Viohalco's place in the Large Cap and the latter (Viohalco) entering the Mid Cap alongside Intralot.
Specifically, in the fifth session of the week, the General Index is down slightly by 0.27% to 1,424.53 points, losing almost four points compared to Thursday's close (1,428.39 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations extends to nine points (from 1,423.75 to 1,432.23 points), with a turnover of 45 million euros, of which 11.5 million euros are pre-agreed packages.
The banking index, unwilling to move higher, retracts -0.40% and 1,221 points, with the upcoming placement in Ethniki a permanent source of volatility.
More specifically, the share of NBG is limited to -0.30% and 7.276 euros (1.5 month low), the share of Alpha is down to -0.50% and 1.584 euros, the share of Piraeus is trading at -0.45% and 3.803 euros, while the share of Eurobank is down to -0.50% and 1.982 euros.
In the high-cap index (-0.28% and 3,454 points), Motor Oil's share shrinks by 1.5% and puts 21 euros to the test. Aegean's share also retreats by at least 2%, while Jumbo and Autohellas lose around 1.5%. On the other hand, Metlen's share gains 1% and returns above 34 euros. Elvalhalcor, Ellaktor and OPAP are up around +1%, with Cenergy's shares climbing back to record highs of 10 euros.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.04% and 2,324 points), PPA shares stand out positively at +1.1% and 27.3 euros, approaching again the record highs of 28 euros. Quest's shares are also up 1.5%, while Intracom and Profile follow at +0.9%. On the contrary, the shares of Intrakat are retreating by at least 1%. Special mention should be made of Attica Bank, which is back in the deep red (-4.2%).
