Without managing to change the short-term trend, another week was completed on the Athens Stock Exchange, with investors engaging in selective investments, hesitating to take additional risk.

In this way, the stock exchange remained trapped in the narrow range of 1,400–1,450 points for the 28th consecutive session, unable to escape the current stagnation and prolonged volatility.

Today, however, attention turned to the restructuring of the FTSE Russell indices, with Cenergy taking Viohalco's place in the Large Cap and the latter (Viohalco) entering the Mid Cap alongside Intralot. The rebalancing, in fact, brought a spike in trading value.

This resulted in Athens playing... defence in the international liquidations and ending with marginal losses, despite the fact that the Stoxx 600 is currently losing at least 1%. Of course, let's not forget that yesterday the Greek market... missed almost all the party from the US rate cut.

Specifically, in the last session of the week, the General Index fell slightly by 0.22% to 1,425.19 points, losing three points compared to Thursday's close (1,428.39 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 10 points (from 1,422.93 to 1,432.23 points), with a turnover of 208 million euros, of which 22.4 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.

On a weekly basis, including today, the change in the main stock index was +0.4%, with September remaining marginally down by -0.4%.

The banking index, unwilling to move higher, retreated -0.51% and 1,219 points, with the upcoming placement in NBG being a permanent source of volatility.

More specifically, the shares of ETE were down -1.62% and 7.18 euros (1.5 month low), Piraeus shares fell -0.52% and 3.80 euros, Eurobank shares traded -0.25% and 1.987 euros, while Alpha shares rose +0.19% and 1.595 euros.
