The Athens Stock Exchange wants to continue yesterday's upward reaction, as it wants to break the 1,450 resistance level for the first time since August 1.

The Greek market, driven by the banking sector, is showing signs... of life, in an attempt to end the prolonged stagnation that has kept the General Index in the 1,400-1,450 range for 29 consecutive sessions.

Specifically, in the second session of the week, the General Index rose slightly by 0.56% to 1,451.04 points, gaining 8.5 points compared to Monday's close (1,442.53 points).

The banking index continues its recovery, as it is currently up +0.70% and 1,258 points.

The share of NBG is trading at +0.69% and 7.552 euros, the share of Piraeus is rising at +0.75% and 3.9 euros, the share of Alpha follows at +0.69% and 1.611 euros, while the share of Eurobank stabilizes at +0.24% and 2.05 euros.

For its part, the share of Bank of Cyprus, which yesterday premiered +4.6% and EUR 5, today reasonably folds to -1.4% and EUR 4.9.

In the high-cap index (+0.67% and 3,532 points), Metlen's share expands +1.2% and 35.4 euros, remaining above 5 billion euros in terms of valuation. Shares of Sarantis - Jumbo also show gains of at least 1%, while up to +0.9% are followed by shares of OPAP, Motor Oil, Ellaktor and ELVALHALKOR. On the opposite side, the shares of OTE, which on Monday reached a new high for the year (15.6 euros), retreat slightly to -0.2% and 15.5 euros.

As for the mid-cap index (+0.36% and 2,350 points), Intralot's shares stand out at +0.9% and 1.17 euros, remaining in the spotlight after the acquisition of 2.3% by Intracom (close to 9.5% of its total stake). ABAX and Lavipharm expand by 1%. On the other hand, shares of Austriacard, Profile and Quest each lose 0.5%.
