A "battle" between buyers and sellers is unfolding on the Greek stock market, after the two-day rally that yielded gains of more than +2%. Wednesday's (25/9) session started at a downward tempo, but the scene changed after the first two hours. The domestic market distanced itself from the profit taking of foreign stock exchanges, setting "mounds" to defend the 1,450 points.

Specifically, the General Index is now up +0.09% and trading at 1,455.36 points, with the high of the day at 1,455.44 points and the low of the day at 1,449.14 points.

Trading activity remains buoyant, with the domestic market finding a "pulse" after the prolonged sluggishness of the summer. This has resulted in a break above 1,450, which until recently was characterized as a durable resistance point, at least until investors "perk up".

The banking index is down -0.16% at 1,267.53 points, the FTSE 25 (high cap) is down -0.01% at 3,543.90 points, while the Mid Cap (mid cap) is up +0.18% at 2,345.70 points.

The value of the transactions stands at 30.373 million euros, of which 6.177 million euros are related to packages (four of ETE, one of Piraeus and one of Eurobank). The market capitalisation is estimated at 102.258 billion euros. 56 stocks are positive, 45 are negative and 12 are unchanged.

Among the systemic banks, Eurobank retreats by -0.29% to EUR 2.064, Alpha Bank moves lower by -0.8% to EUR 1.607, Piraeus remains unchanged at EUR 3.91, and NBG strengthens by +0.47% to EUR 7.736.

ElvalHalcor "climbs" +2.7% in the large-cap space, and its parent, Viohalco, follows at +2.4%. OTE and Motor Oil follow with gains of +0.9%. In the mid-cap sector, Intracom Holdings "jumps" +2.1%. Close to +2%, ADMIE is trading close to +2%, boosted by its six-month performance. Conversely, Profile corrects by -1% and moves away from its historical highs.
