The Athens Stock Exchange starts the new week with a noteworthy step, rushing to absorb the +3% of the previous five-day period, which has brought back smiles to investors.

Everyone's attention, of course, is focused on the Ethniki Bank placement, where the HFSF is granting 10% at a price of 7.30 to 7.95 euros. Interest is extremely "lively", with the success of the sale being considered a foregone conclusion.

Specifically, in the last session of September, the General Index declined marginally by 0.11% to 1,467.21 points, losing 1.5 points compared to Friday's close (1,468.70 points).

The arc of the daily fluctuations extends over two points (from 1,466.74 to 1,468.61 points), with the turnover of the transactions ranging at 3.2 million in the first 10 minutes.

The banking sector is stagnant at +0.04% and 1,277 points, focusing mainly on the placement of the National Bank of Greece, where investors are invited to submit their bids for 10% of the HFSF shares by Wednesday.

In this context, the share of NBG is up +0.87% and 7.912 euros, while the share of Piraeus is limited to -0.31% and 3.918 euros, the share of Alpha is trading -0.38% and 1.587 euros, and the share of Eurobank is folding -0.24% and 2.085 euros.

In the high-cap index (-0.15% and 3,572 points), OTE shares correct from 20-month highs and fold -0.75%, falling below 16 euros. EYDAP and AIA, meanwhile, retreat by at least 1%, with PPC shares trailing at -0.7%. On the flip side, Cenergy's shares climb to new all-time highs (+0.8% and 10.1 euros), in anticipation of the crucial AGM for the €200 million AMK. Viohalco, GEK TERNA and ELVALHALCOR rise up to 0.8%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.15% and 2,340 points), Ideal Holdings' shares stand out at -1% and EUR 5.9. Lavipharm, AVAX, EXAE, Technical Olympic and Optima Bank also show losses of up to 0.7%. On the contrary, the shares of ADMIE continue to rise, recovering 2.4 euros for the first time since February. Dimand's shares also gain 1%, improving to 9.40 euros.
