The Athens Stock Exchange closed at the lowest point of the day, with sellers reversing the initial lead of the buyers and driving the General Index below 1,450 points.
Entering October and the last quarter of the year with the left hand, the Greek market continued to "dance" to the rhythm of the National Bank, where the placement for the 10% of the HFSF is in full swing. The question now is what the transaction's final price will be because the bid book is significantly oversubscribed.
The disinvestment process has, understandably, affected - and will continue to affect - investor psychology as it absorbs a large part of the available liquidity. Therefore, traders will gain a better view of the short- to medium-term trend after the transaction is completed.
For now, in the second session of the week, the General Index declined by 0.34% to 1,447.03 points, losing about five points from Monday's close (1,451.90 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 12 points (from 1,447.03 to 1,459.12 points), with a turnover of 106 million euros, of which 20.4 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.
The banking index came under significant pressure for the second consecutive day, as initial gains "turned" into losses of -1.03%, ending at 1,238 points.

In the high-cap index (-0.50% and 3,509 points), Metlen shares retreated 1.2% and fell below 35 euros, with Coca-Cola shares losing 1.5% and sliding below 32 euros. Viohalco and EYDAP lost 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively. On the flip side, OTE shares gained +1.6% and 15.7 euros, recovering some of Monday's losses and approaching 22-month highs of 16 euros.
