PPC is ranked 6th in Europe in the sales of bilateral electricity supply contracts from RES, according to the Power Barometer 2024 of the Association of European Energy Companies, Eurelectric.

PPC is ranked 6th in Europe in the sales of bilateral electricity supply contracts from RES, according to the Power Barometer 2024 of the Association of European Energy Companies, Eurelectric, which represents over 3,500 companies in 30 countries. Similarly, Metlen was ranked 8th Europe-wide among buyers of green PPAs in 2023.

In more detail, according to the Power Barometer.

  • It is recalled that PPC has signed an agreement with Viohalco for photovoltaics with a total capacity of 520 MW and with Titan for 300 MW
  • Metlen recorded contracts of around 500 MW to meet the energy needs of the group and Protergia's customers, as shown in the Power

Barometer 2024, Last year saw a 41% increase in PPA volumes on an annual basis, reaching over 16 GW. More than half of the new deals came from Germany and Italy. 

GREEK MARKET'S CONCERNS

The Greek market has serious concerns about the contracting and profile of the contract, as well as the pricing and management of guarantees of origin. This was evident in the recent relevant survey by the Energy Exchange on the occasion of the new green PPAs platform to be launched, as planned by the beginning of next year.   According to sources with knowledge of the survey, among the concerns raised was the stability of the regulatory framework for such long-term contracts, especially in a highly volatile environment such as that emerging in the energy market.
