The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund gave the three bidders the go-ahead to move on to the next phase of the tender for the development of the National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa (NSCC).

Specifically:

  • G. Machairidou & Co.
  •  My Adventure, Vassilios Tzoumakas
  •  UCERT Unipersonal IKE

WHAT THE TENDER PROVIDES

The tender provides for the exploitation by concession of a total area of approximately 6,200 hectares located in the Vasilitsa and Balduma mountains of the National Park of North Pindos, in the Regional Units of Grevena and Ioannina. The preferred investor will take over for at least 25 years the right to use, operate, manage and exploit the NFCB. The aim is to make it an attractive pole of mountain tourism, encouraging gentle tourism development throughout the year.   This is the first attempt to develop the ski resort in cooperation with private investors and the first attempt to develop a ski resort in Greece with a concession contract.

THE PROPERTY

The property is in a particularly privileged location due to its proximity to Thessaloniki, Grevena and Ioannina, as well as important cultural attractions such as Meteora and the archaeological site of Vergina. Moreover, it has easy road access due to its connection with the Egnatia Odos and is 130 km from Ioannina airport and 213 km from Thessaloniki airport, attracting visitors from all over Greece and Southeastern Europe. The National Ski Centre of Vasilitsa has 7 ski lifts installed, which serve the 18 existing ski runs, including 2 beginners' runs.
