Unibios is looking at acquisitions of smaller companies with a portfolio that matches its own, without ruling out a move abroad.

The company is focusing on the water treatment and wastewater sectors. At the same time, it is largely unaffected by inflation, energy costs, and rising raw material prices, as its diversified portfolio allows it to absorb the shocks.  The continued growth in demand for tourism services up to the third quarter is an important factor in the final shape of the group's financial result for 2024. Already in the first nine months of the year, tourism flows have been recorded at a rate above 2023. Climate change and the now observed periods of drought, far above normal, are creating a strong demand for desalination and wastewater treatment equipment, resulting in the expected increased demand for the group's products and services.

In the context of the Group's focus on environmental technologies and markets, the subsidiary Biosol Domiki Tools, which was active in the scaffolding market, was put into liquidation. This decision resulted in an extraordinary investment loss of €401 thousand, arising from the write-off of the related goodwill, which impacted the group's half-year results. At the same time, an extraordinary deferred tax asset of €377 thousand was created.

Apart from acquisitions, the company aims to strengthen the second axis of its business plan. This is research and development, as the company aims to obtain a European patent in the field of industrial waste management from the European Patent Office in 2025. Through this move, if successful, sales are expected to increase sharply.
