The mining and quarrying industry helped Greek businesses' revenue show a relatively modest increase in August.

According to ELSTAT, turnover in August 2024 was 32,208,347 thousand euros, up 2.9% from August 2023's figure of 31,307,686 thousand euros for all businesses in the economy required to maintain double-entry books for which data are available on a monthly basis.

The largest increase in turnover in August 2024 compared to August 2023 was recorded in the mining and quarrying sector, up 27.7%.

The smallest increase was observed in enterprises in the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector, by 1.1%, while the largest decrease was observed in enterprises in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector, by 4.4%.
