Lamda Marinas is investing €5 million for the aesthetic, technological and energy upgrade of Flisvos Marina in 2025, while by the end of the year the sub-concession process for the construction of a marina for mega-yachts in Corfu is expected to be completed.
As stated during the presentation of the Sustainable Development Report for 2023 by the Managing Director of Lamda Flisvos Marina SA and Head of Lamda Marinas, Stavros Katsikadis, the main interventions planned for Flisvos Marina relate to:
- Placement of new fencing and use of new, modern, environmentally friendly covering materials that, among other things, will improve the aesthetic experience of visitors
- Installation of a new shelter with photovoltaic panels. The project is in the process of being licensed and its capacity will be 560 KW, covering with RES a not inconsiderable percentage of the total energy needs of Flisvos Marina, which at the peak of the summer season are between 2.5 and 3 MW
- Purchase of an electric auxiliary boat with the necessary charging station
- Upgrading of the two main entrances of pedestrian areas A and B, using new materials.
NEW DIGITAL SERVICES...
Digital upgrade with the start of fibre optic installation. This is a project that comes to couple with the Flisvos Marina app, which is the specialized application recently presented by Flisvos Marina. The aim, as Mr. Katsikadis pointed out, is to create the infrastructure to provide the customer with a more complete and integrated service that will not only include the marina experience but also the possibility of managing specific functions of the boat through his mobile phone.
AND CYCLE ECONOMY
New plantings and flora enhancement in the marina park, using plants of Greek nature, such as oleander, chicory, carob, etc., with the aim of enhancing biodiversity. It is worth noting here that the green waste from the care and management of the 20 hectares of the park is processed in a special composting unit and enriched with coffee residues from the cafeterias that operate in the marina, giving excellent quality fertilizer which is then reused in the park. "This is a practical application of the circular economy," said Mr Katsikadis.
On the sidelines of the presentation, he also announced that in the next period the co-signing with the Greek State of the contract for the sub-concession of the right to build the marina for large vessels (mega-yachts) within the port of Corfu will take place, with the whole issue to be closed by the end of 2024. It is recalled that Lamda Marinas has been identified as a preferred investor by the Hellenic Investment Fund, and the concession will have a duration of 40 years.
STUDY ON MARINAS IN GREECE
At the same time, in cooperation with the Kapodistrian University and the University of Piraeus, Lamda Marinas is currently running a particularly interesting project for the mapping of the Greek territory and the identification of areas where new marinas could be created, meeting the requirements of economic and environmental sustainability. The study, as Mr. Katsikadis explained to BnB Daily, is being carried out with the agreement of the Ministry of Tourism and will bear the stamp of Dianesis.
