In the period January–September 2024, the cash result of the central government showed a surplus of €1,870 million, compared to a deficit of €494 million in the corresponding period of 2023.

During this period, regular budget revenue amounted to €49,269 million, up from €44,851 million last year.

As for regular budget expenditure, it amounted to €43,665 million, up from €43,438 million in the January-September 2023 period.

The central government cash primary surplus was €8.05 billion, compared to a surplus of €5.29 billion in the first eight months of 2023.
