The Board of Directors of Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) confirmed the disposal of a 20% stake in the subsidiary Ariadni Interconnection to State Grid International Development Belgium Ltd, which had submitted a binding, improved offer in the relevant tender.

The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the competent authorities, an announcement by ADMIE said.

Ariadne Interconnection SA is the operator of the Attica-Crete electricity interconnection, which is the largest and most complex electricity transmission project in Greece and one of the three deepest maritime interconnections worldwide.

The construction part of the project has been completed with the laying of all the submarine electrical (500 kV) and optical cables, while the cabling and installation of the outdoor equipment are in the final stages.

Cable testing will begin on a trial basis in early 2025, and the cable will be operational by next summer.
