Continuation of the upward trends for the fourth consecutive day is observed in the Greek stock market, which is moving around 1,440 points.

Unless something changes dramatically, it will return to positive signs on a weekly basis. The aim is to boost liquidity after the constant corporate actions (capital increases, bond issues, etc.) that have plagued Athens recently.

In particular, in Friday's (18/10) session, the General Index strengthened by +0.25% and traded at 1,442.21 points, moving in a narrow range between 1,439.19 (low of the day) and 1,444.46 points (high of the day). The rotation of the protagonists maintains the positive momentum in the stock exchange. Banks continue to be the "barometer," especially after the increase in the free float of ΝΒG in the wake of the placement of 10% of its share capital.

Traders are eagerly awaiting Standard & Poor's assessment of the Greek economy. It will publish it tonight just after the close of the Wall Street session. The US rating agency gives the country a BBB- and positive outlook and has placed the country in investment grade status since last year. Meanwhile, October contracts on the derivatives market expire today.

The banking index is trading with a +0.39% gain at 1,237.25 points. The FTSE 25 (high cap) is up +0.36% at 3,512.77 points, while the Mid Cap (mid cap) is up -0.08% at 2,310.36 points.

The value of the transactions is 34.377 million euros, of which 3 million euros are packages. The National Bank of Greece generates a turnover of 6.142 million euros. The market capitalisation amounts to EUR 101,427 billion. 57 shares are positive, compared with 41 that are falling and 12 that are unchanged.
Among the systemic banks, Piraeus is up +2.01% at 3.86 euros, Alpha Bank is up +0.29% at 1.5315 euros, while Eurobank is unchanged at 2.043 euros. NBG loses -0.24% and trades at 7.5 euros.
