Cenergy Holdings announces that Hellenic Cables, its cable business, has signed a multi-year framework agreement with Enexis Netbeheer for a landmark project aimed at strengthening and expanding the electricity network in the Netherlands. Enexis Netbeheer, one of the country's largest electricity network operators, has awarded Hellenic Cables a contract as part of a €2.3 billion investment program that will strengthen the electricity distribution infrastructure in the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Brabant, and Limburg in the Netherlands.
The project will be implemented over the next twelve years and involves the installation of more than 76000 km of new cables. The initial duration of the contract is eight years, with the possibility of extension for a further four years. Hellenic Cables will supply 40,000 km of medium voltage cables and 36,000 km of low voltage cables required for the modernisation of local networks, ensuring reliable energy supply to an increasingly energy-demanding society.
Kostas Savvakis, General Manager of Hellenic Cables, said: "We are honoured that Enexis Netbeheer has chosen us to participate in this important infrastructure project. Our commitment to innovation, reliability, and sustainability is in full alignment with Enexis' goals for the energy security of the Netherlands. This project strengthens our presence in the Dutch market and at the same time represents an important step towards Europe's transition to clean energy."
Hellenic Cables is systematically investing and expanding its production capacity, ready to support Europe's decarbonisation and electrification goals. The partnership between Hellenic Cables and Enexis Netbeheer is a concrete example of how Hellenic Cables can support leading network operators in the development of Europe's energy network. With a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability, this partnership will play a key role in ensuring a stable and secure energy future for the Netherlands and beyond.
