The Athens Stock Exchange starts the new week on a low note, while investors are keeping a wait-and-see attitude, with their eyes on the banking figures and the US presidential elections.

The focus of attention is also on the upcoming decisions of the Federal Reserve on the level of US interest rates, while today the dividend cut-off of the OPAP dividend is also taking place, which is expected to affect the investor climate.

In any case, the Greek market's first objective is to stay within striking distance from the moving average of the last 200 days (1,396 points) and from the psychological limit of 1,400 points, with 1,375 points being the main support.

Specifically, in the first session of the new week, the General Index rose slightly by 0.10% to 1,391.85 points, gaining just 1.5 points compared to Friday's close (1,390.49 points).

The arc of the daily fluctuations extends over five points (from 1,386.48 to 1,391.85 points), with the turnover of the transactions ranging at 2.5 million in the first 15 minutes.

The banking index, in anticipation of the new economic data, retreats slightly to -0.38% and 1,166 points, not continuing Friday's upward reaction.

NBG shares retreat -0.89% and 7.31 euros, Eurobank shares follow at -0.73% and 1.905 euros, Alpha shares trade at -0.18% and 1.398 euros, while Piraeus shares strengthen +0.57% and 3.55 euros.

In the high-cap index (-0.29% and 3,350 points), OPAP shares slide -2.4% and 15.3 euros, due to the cut-off of the dividend entitlement of 0.6 euros. At the same time, OTE shares are down 1%, while shares of ELVALHALKOR, Aegean, Cenergy and Helleniq Energy retract by up to 0.7%. On the flip side, Sarantis shares gain 0.9%, with shares of PPI, Hellenktor, Motor Oil, Lamda and Terna Energy trailing by up to +0.6%.

As for the mid-cap index (-0.18% and 2,262 points), Intralot shares stand out negatively at -2.50% and 0.975 euros, under pressure from developments in the US. Fourlis and Profile each lose around 0.8%. On the other hand, Kri Kri's shares gain 1.8% and approach again the record high of 14 euros. ABAX also rises by 1.2%. A special mention should be made of Attica Bank, as the first phase of the AMK concludes today.
