The Athens Stock Exchange completed a "silent" four-day bullish streak, with buyers continuing their selective positioning, in the shadow of the US elections.
Banks were the "flagship" of the Greek market for yet another session, which approached the psychological threshold of 1,400 points, but failed to make the step above, failing to reverse the short-term negative trend.
Specifically, in the second session of the week, the General Index recorded a cautious increase of 0.65% and stood at 1,399.66 points, gaining nine points compared to Monday's close (1,390.65 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at eight points (from 1,391.66 to 1,399.73 points), with a trading turnover of 125.2 million euros, of which 43.9 million euros related to pre-agreed packages.
The Piraeus share expanded +1.58% and 3.655 euros, the NBG share jumped +2.85% and 7.518 euros, the Eurobank share followed at +1.55% and 1.97 euros, while the Alpha share rose +0.96% and 1.4145 euros.
In the high-cap index (+0.77% and 3,388 points), OTE shares rose +1.2% and 15.4 euros, while Hellaktor shares managed to break away from the multi-month low, reacting +2.4% and 1.75 euros. ELVAHALKOR and Titan gained 0.9% and 0.7%, respectively, with AIA's shares continuing the comeback, heading towards 7.9 euros (+0.97%). It should be noted that the airport's listing price was set at 8.2 euros. On the other hand, shares of Sarantis, Jumbo and Lamda Development slid by 1%. Autohellas shares followed at -0.9%.
As for the mid-cap index (+0.36% and 2,267 points), Intralot's shares, which in the previous days came under a lot of pressure due to the loss of the contract in Ohio and slumped to 10-month lows, rebounded strongly to +3.8% and EUR 1.01, followed by Intracom's shares at +3.1% and EUR 2.78. Meanwhile, shares of HKE traded +1.29% and 4.3 euros. On the flip side, ADMIE shares retreated -1.2% and 2.33 euros.
