Credit expansion slowed down
Banks' credit expansion to businesses and households slowed down in September, halting the upward trend that had been following in recent months.
Banks' credit expansion to businesses and households slowed down in September, halting the upward trend that had been following in recent months.
According to Bank of Greece data, total credit expansion, which covers the private and public sectors, stood at 3.2% compared to 3.8% in August.
It should be noted that in July and June it had been 3.7%, and therefore September's growth was the lowest recorded since May (2.7%).
To the private sector in particular, there was also a slowdown in credit, of 6.6% from 6.9% in August.
