Solutions to boost the competitiveness of the European chemical industry, with emphasis on energy costs, but also the need to find the optimal balance between the robustness of the European economy and the effective green transition, were on the agenda during the meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with senior executives of European chemical industries, who are in Greece for the industry's conference, which is being held in Athens.
The meeting stressed that Europe should remain neutral on the emergence of new technologies in the field of clean energy, which could make a substantial contribution to reducing emissions if given the chance to mature. In addition, the importance of maintaining highly qualified jobs in Europe and ways of better linking vocational and technical education and training to the needs of the industry was also stressed.
Indeed, the chemical industry executives praised the high growth rates that Greece has achieved in recent years and the ability of our country to attract a large volume of foreign investment.
