The Athens market moved in line with the European indices today, changing direction twice to end up slightly positive for the day but not for the week.

Specifically, the General Index initially moved up to 1,403.8 points (+0.45%), then found itself retreating to 1,390.5 points (-0.50%), and finally ended at 1,401.58 points with a small gain of 0.28%.

OPAP led the bullish turn in the market with +3.27% at 15.8 euros on 7.3 million euros worth of trades (4th highest turnover of the day).

Next to it was heavyweight Coca-Cola (823k), which with its +1.93% essentially ruled the day, with Cenergy (1.6m) at 8.4 euros with +1.94%, Jumbo (1.7m) at 24.66 euros with +1.9%, and GEK TERNA (3.2m) at 17.9 euros with +1.82%.

Titan (5.7 million) continued strongly up for the third day with +1.48% to a new all-time high of EUR 37.65 after two sessions with around +4.4% in each.

On the other hand, ELHA (731k) with its ferocious 9.4% rally yesterday today reached intraday up to EUR 1.87 (+4.33%) but closed unchanged at EUR 1.8.

Banks all moved down with significant losses, but given the pan-European picture in the sector (down more than 3% for Deutsche Bank, Santander, and more than 2% for SocGen, BNP Paribas, and Credit Agricole), they stood rather well.

The best performer by far was Eurobank (8.9m), which limited losses to just 0.2% at €2.036.

ΝΒG, with the largest turnover of the day by far at 21.5 million euros, fell to 6.92 euros with -1.59%, Piraeus (9.7 million) to 3.589 euros with -1.13%, and Alpha (6.8 million) to 1.53 euros with -2.05%.

ELPE (1.4 million) was also under significant pressure with -1.84% at 6.67 euros, with Autohellas (93 thousand) retreating to 10.01 euros with -1.37%.

In midcaps, AVAX (101k) and Intrakat (442k) moved around +1.3% and Intracom (78k) and Intralot (479k) at +1.15%, while Techniki Olympiaki (37k) lost 2.17% and Dimand (66k) closed at -1.2%.

Beyond that, Attica Bank gained 4.07% to 0.614 euros with 407 thousand euros worth of trades after a daily +/- 10% fluctuation limit was set on its shares.
