PPC Renewables starts the construction of three new wind farms, with a total capacity of approximately 100 MW, in Greece, as it dynamically advances the organic development of the PPP portfolio for the PPC Group.
The new wind farms begin construction in Rodopi, Fokida, and Argolida with the supply of 19 new Nordex N149/5.X type wind turbines.
Upon completion of the projects, which is expected within the first half of 2026, the expected annual production of the three farms will exceed 280 GWh, preventing the emission of more than 142,000 metric tons of CO2.
Dynamic development of renewable energy portfolio with a target of 11.8GW in 2027
The PPC Group is moving forward dynamically with the development of new renewable energy projects, as new wind and photovoltaic projects are added to the company's existing projects, which currently have an installed capacity of around 5.5 GW.
Currently, the PPC Group has new renewable energy projects under construction or ready to start construction of approximately 3.8 GW. Among the major RES projects under construction is the 550 MW photovoltaic station project, located within the old lignite mines of the greater Ptolemaida area and one of the largest solar power projects in Europe. The start of construction of a new wind farm with an installed capacity of 140 MW in eastern Romania was also recently announced.
The PPC Group is developing its RES portfolio in Greece and Southeastern Europe, both through organic growth and through partnerships and acquisitions. It recently announced the completion of a purchase and sale agreement with Evryo Group, owned by funds controlled by Macquarie Asset Management, for the acquisition of a significant renewable energy portfolio in Romania, which includes projects with a total installed capacity of 629 MW in operation and approximately 145 MW under development.
In addition, it was also recently announced the conclusion of a Framework Cooperation Agreement with the Kopelouzos and Samaras Groups for the acquisition of a portfolio of RES in operation, with a total installed capacity of 66.6 MW, as well as the acquisition of a portfolio of RES under development of up to 1.7 GW and its joint development.
PPC Renewables is a wholly owned subsidiary of PPC and invests in the power of nature through renewable energy generation and energy storage. In addition to its large-scale photovoltaic and wind projects, the company is innovating in the Southeastern European market through projects covering the full range of renewable energy sources (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and biomass).
