Intracom Telecom is launching a €45 million investment in the creation of high-tech production facilities in Kozani. Construction of the plant will start in 2025 and is expected to be completed within two years.

According to a statement, the project is part of the Greek government's Fair Transition Programme, which aims to boost entrepreneurship and economic development in the country's regional areas and is another strategic milestone for the Greek technology powerhouse in its ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the global market.

The new plant will be erected on a privately owned area of 71,457 sq m with buildings covering 18,637 sq m and will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, constituting yet another of the group's production facilities to join those in Romania and Italy. With the aim of reducing the environmental footprint, 20% of the plant's energy needs will be met through solar systems.

The plant will focus on the production of high-tech products for the implementation of wireless networks. These advanced radio systems are developed at the company's R&D centers in Greece and support the creation of modern 5G/6G networks, contributing significantly to the digital economy of Greece and Europe.

"The investment in Kozani is a strategic milestone to strengthen our leadership position in the technology sector," said Intracom Telecom Chairman of the Board Isak Alon. "The strategic geographic location of the region, which provides direct access to markets in Europe, makes it an ideal choice for expanding our production capacity to meet growing global demand. At the same time, the project reflects our commitment to strengthen the European Union's technological autonomy," he added.
