Vodafone is investing €1 billion with a horizon of 2029, both for the geographical expansion of its fibre optic infrastructure and the development of the 5G network.

FIBRE OPTICS

In 2024, the company accelerated the deployment of its fixed-line network, implementing more than 300,000 fibre-optic lines directly to the home. Within 2025, Vodafone's fibre network will be commercially available in 500,000 homes, with a target of 850,000 homes by 2028. In mobile, Vodafone's 5G network covers over 91% of the population, and by March 2025 coverage will reach 94%.

FIBRE-OPTIC STATION

The company has completed the construction of a fibre optic submarine cable landing station in Tybaki, Crete. The new station will upgrade the country's position on the global digital map and turn it into a telecommunications hub for the wider Mediterranean region. The first quarter of 2025 is expected to see the landfall of the 2Africa system.

SUBSCRIBER GROWTH

In the first half of the year (April-September 2024), mobile contracts increased by 86,000 subscribers, while fibre broadband penetration also grew 164% year-on-year.

The enterprise customer arm grew double-digit year-on-year in revenues from cloud, IoT, Cybersecurity and internal private network services to large enterprises.

RETAIL

The Flex interest-free installment plan for Vodafone customers recorded 44% annual growth and was a strong growth driver for the e-shop, taking up 80% of online sales. The Vodafone and Public partnership has completed one year, with 11 Vodafone stores already in operation within an equal number of Public stores, with a target of 25 stores in operation by March 2025.

AI

Vodafone entered into partnerships with Microsoft and Google for cloud services and productivity tools for businesses. In addition, its digital assistant, TOBi, in Greece alone handles 250,000 customer queries per month and resolves around 2 out of 3 issues without transferring a call to a representative.

VODAFONE TV

Vodafone TV achieved annual growth of 20%, exceeding 200,000 subscribers.
