Inflation at 3% in November
Eurostat's final data on inflation in the country confirms a marginal decline, with inflation at 3% in November, down from 3.1% in October and against 2.2% in the euro area.

Eurostat's final data on inflation in the country confirms a marginal decline, with inflation at 3% in November, down from 3.1% in October and against 2.2% in the euro area. By comparison, Greece had the sixth highest inflation in the Eurozone and the 10th in the EU.

According to Eurostat, there was a significant deceleration in food, with the index, which includes alcoholic beverages and tobacco in addition to food, falling to its lowest level in at least three years, as of May 2021. In particular, it rose to 0.5% from 1% in October. This is the lowest food, alcohol and tobacco inflation recorded in November in the EU.

The food-only index also slowed to 0.3% from 1% in October. This is respectively the smallest change since May 2021 and one of the lowest figures for November in the EU, after Finland (0%) and France (0.1%).
