
The general government debt stood at €370.865 billion in the third quarter of 2024, according to preliminary data published by ELSTAT.
In the previous quarter, the debt stood at €369.416 billion, while in the same period of 2023 it stood at 371.483 euros.
According to the quarterly non-financial accounts of the general government, the primary surplus in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 5.333 billion euros, while in the second quarter it stood at 4.887 billion euros. In the third quarter of 2023, it stood at 3.339 billion.
General government revenue was EUR 29.607 billion, down from EUR 30.285 billion in Q2 and EUR 27.214 billion in Q3 2023.
Finally, always according to ELSTAT data, general government spending was EUR 26.340 billion in Q3 2024 compared to EUR 27.526 billion in Q2 2024 and EUR 25.831 billion a year earlier.
