The Athens Stock Exchange completed its sixth consecutive upward session today (21/1), with buyers remaining firmly at the helm.

Ignoring concerns about Trump-economics and outperforming the rest of Europe, the Greek market continued to "trim" the distance from 1,550 points, which is the next target amid the march to 14-year highs.

With the rotation of securities offering valuable support, Athens lifted its 2025 cumulative change to +4.5%, with expectations of high dividends and attractive valuations as the main vehicle. 

Specifically, in the second session of the week, the General Index rose +0.56% to 1,539.48 points, gaining more than 8.5 points compared to Monday's close (1,530.87 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 10 points (from 1,529.29 to 1,539.72 points), with a turnover of 113.2 million euros, of which 4.8 million euros were pre-agreed packages.

The banking index, which has been expanding more than +10.5% since the beginning of the year, continued to accumulate strength at 9-year highs, ending +0.25% and 1,422 points.

Eurobank shares gained +1.06% and EUR 2.476, Alpha followed at +0.14% and EUR 1.7675, ΝΒG shares were almost unchanged at EUR 8.474, while Piraeus shares declined -0.11% and EUR 4.365.

In the high capitalization index (+0.53% and 3,758 points), Metlen's share, after yesterday's awakening, continued upwards at +1.12% and 34.3 euros, while PPC's share expanded to the "tops" of 12.8 euros, recording an increase of +0.79%. From there, Titan Cement shares climbed +3.3% to a record high of 44.5 euros, with Aegean shares soaring +5.75% to 10.66 euros (2025 high). Jumbo also closed up +2.2%. In contrast, OPAP shares folded to -1% and 15.9 euros. Shares of Viohalco-Cenergy also fell by more than -1.2%. 

As for the mid-cap index (+1.15% and 2,433 points), ABAX shares stood out at +5.2% and 1.88 euros, reaching a new 11-year high. PPA shares also returned to the 30 euro "tops" thanks to today's +3.97%, while Intracom and Autohellas shares gained more than +3%. Profile and Intralot followed at +1%.
