The Ministry of Environment and Energy has granted a five-year installation permit to the GAS Pipeline for the Independent Natural Gas System (ASNG) in Agioi Theodoroi, Corinthia. This is Motor Oil's FSRU, for which the company has already secured environmental conditions and the project has been included in the strategic investments.

It is recalled that in the latest updated 10-year Development Plan for the period 2024-2033 of DESFA, the FSRU is scheduled to start operations in October 2026 with a budget of €20.67 million. 

THE DECISION

According to the decision of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources posted on Diavgeia, the installation approval for the construction of the project at the location of Sousaki in the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora Ag. Theodoroi, Corinthia includes:

  • Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), with a capacity of up to 210,000 m2.
  • Port facility serving the FSRU, which will include a central platform connecting to the FSRU and an access bridge from the central platform to the shore
  • a natural gas pipeline, with a total length of 2 862 m, for the extraction of natural gas from the LNG receiving, temporary storage and gasification floating unit and its delivery to the National Gas Transmission System
  • Onshore ancillary facilities, near the port facility and others near the new DESFA Metering Station
    Electrical interconnection to supply electricity to the project from the existing Ag. Theodoroi substation of ADMIE
