
The Corporate Governance Council (CGB) of the GrowthFund, based on its responsibilities, has decided to appoint Mr. Ioannis Papachristou for a four-year term of office effective from 4 March 2025.
This decision is the result of an open procedure for the renewal or replacement of the CEO of the company through a public call for interest to candidates published on 29 November 2024.
According to the announcement, the SED firmly believes that Mr. Papachristou will lead the GrowthFund while implementing the transformation and growth program as outlined in the Strategic Plan submitted by the Board of Directors of the Company and approved by the Greek Government in November 2024. Under Mr. Papachristou's leadership and based on the existing framework, the Ypertha Fund will meet its objective of creating added value in the companies it supervises, making a decisive contribution to the development of the Greek economy.
RESUME
Mr. Papachristou has served as a senior executive in large multinational companies with a proven track record of successful leadership and strong business and management experience both in Greece and abroad. More specifically, he has served as CEO of ANTENNA GROUP (2022 to date);. Deputy CEO of CHIPITA GROUP (2020 to 2022); Country Manager of COCA COLA HBC Greece and Cyprus (2016 to 2020); Country Manager of COCA COLA HBC Greece and Cyprus (2016 to 2020);. Commercial General Manager of COCA COLA HBC Russia (2014 to 2016); General Manager of L'OREAL Market Department—Hungary, Greece, Russia (2006 to 2013); Marketing Director of L'OREAL HELLAS (2000 to 2003) and for the European zone (2004 to 2006); Marketing Director of JOHNSON & JOHNSON HELLAS (1995 to 2000).
He holds a degree in chemical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an MBA from the University of Geneva. He is an alumni member of INSEAD. He is president of the Hellenic Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO).
As Gregory D. Dimitriadis' term of office comes to an end, the Corporate Governance Council would like to acknowledge and congratulate him for his contribution as CEO. He served with dedication and determination in shaping a new and bold vision for the transformation of the Super Fund into a Sovereign Wealth Fund of international renown. He was also highly effective in developing the active shareholder concept, successfully managing key transformations of companies in the company's portfolio, achieving the addition of new subsidiaries, and completing the absorption of the Privatization Fund (HIFID) and the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) in a timely manner. Pursued the establishment of a new investment fund to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Greece. The SED also recognizes its skills in corporate governance and effective stakeholder management. The BPA wishes him every success in his next professional steps, the statement said.
