The Athens Stock Exchange achieved its best session of the last 16 months (since November 2023) today (13/2), with the market euphoria pushing the General Index to the milestone of 1,600 points.

Specifically, in the fourth—and penultimate—session of the week, the General Index posted an explosive +2.49% rise and closed at a daily high of 1,600.97 points, gaining almost 39 points compared to Wednesday's close (1,562.04 points).

The arc of daily fluctuations was fixed at 35 points (from 1,565.97 to 1,600.98 points), with a turnover of 213.7 million euros, of which more than 110 million euros were related to banks. The value of the packages is estimated at EUR 22.8 million.

The banking index, in anticipation of the sector's financial results, rose strongly to +3.20% and 1,458 points, climbing to new 9-year highs (since November 2015).

The share of NBG expanded to +3.61% and EUR 8.60 (9-year high), the share of Piraeus "flew" to +3.90% and EUR 4.66 (4-year high), the share of Alpha ended at +3.21% and EUR 1.8475 (5-year high), while the share of Eurobank rose to +2.50% and EUR 2.46.

In the high-cap index (+2.82% and 3,922 points), Coca - Cola shares climbed +7.9% and 38.5 euros, reaching a new all-time high, following the strong 2024 figures and the generous dividend of 1.03 euros. Aegean's share followed at +3.1% and 10.7 euros, while Titan Cement's share put a brake on the downward streak and returned to +1.1% and 43.1 euros. Cenergy, Jumbo, Lamda, Viohalco, Sarantis, PPC, Motor Oil and OTE also gained between +1% and +2%, with ELVALHALKOR's share climbing +3% to EUR 2.06. Simultaneously, Metlen's shares surged by 1.8% to 35.9 euros, establishing a new 5-month high and closing the gap to the record high of 39 euros.

As for the mid-cap index (+0.83% and 2,527 points), AVAX shares continued to soar to 15-year highs as they expanded to +3.6% and 2.12 euros. Thrace Plastics shares also performed strongly, recovering to 4 euros thanks to today's +4.2% gain. AXAE, Intralot, Intracom, Trade Estates, Autohellas, Dimand and Lavipharm gained between +1% and 2%, while PPA shares were above EUR 33 for the first time (at EUR 33.1, up +0.7%). On the flip side, Profile and Quest shares retreated by -1.1% and -1.5%, respectively.
