ENERGY COSTS ARE A CONCERN
68% of respondents feel happy with their current living situation, while 24% are financially comfortable with their current housing situation, down 20% compared to the European average.
However, only 17% say they are comfortable with energy costs. Low energy consumption is of primary importance to 43% of Greeks looking for new properties, and given Greece's hot climate, the emphasis on energy saving is increasing the popularity of newly built properties, with 22% of respondents preferring them as they generally save more energy.
Finally, financial pressure is causing many Greeks to consider implementing sustainability measures, with 33% considering installing photovoltaic panels and 24% heat pumps. Both percentages appear increased compared to the European average (27% and 19% respectively).
