Banks lead among global decline

ATHEX is attempting to place barriers against international pressures, with the banking sector continuing robustly after the strong results with which the past week closed. The General Index found itself declining shortly after the opening to 1,597 points (-0.67%) but quickly rebounded and is now slightly up by 0.1% at 1,608 points.

The trading activity has surged significantly, exceeding 45 million euros within the first half hour, with 10 million shares having been exchanged. The banking index is up by 0.55% at 1,500 points, the large-cap FTSE is seeing an increase of 0.05% at 3,943 points, as well as the mid-cap FTSEM, which is moving at 2,486.53 points with a rise of 0.6%.
