NBG has denied media reports regarding negotiations for a strategic agreement with the Bank of Cyprus.

Specifically, NBG, in response to a related inquiry from the HCMC and with the aim of correctly informing the investing public, "denies as false today’s reports from online media concerning negotiations for a strategic agreement between the National Bank of Greece S.A. and the Bank of Cyprus."

It also adds that "as part of its strategy, it continually examines potential opportunities that could enhance value for its shareholders."
