During a visit to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance on Monday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed the evolving productive model of the Greek economy, emphasizing its resilience despite challenging geopolitical conditions. He stated, “The positive impact of the Greek economy should be felt by citizens,” while affirming the government's commitment to maintaining fiscal balance.

Mitsotakis unveiled plans for new tax cuts and highlighted the government's legislative initiatives, including an out-of-court settlement mechanism aimed at facilitating debt restructuring. He remarked, “The true success of our policies will be assessed over the next 2.5 years through our ability to enhance incomes, reduce unemployment, and create quality job opportunities.”

“For the first time, the Greek state is achieving what previous administrations promised but failed to deliver. We have improved revenue collection through our effective measures against tax evasion,” he said, adding, “We will persist in this endeavor. I want to emphasize that this additional, stable revenue for the economy will directly benefit the Greek public—either through increased public investments or further tax reductions. Citizens will soon witness the tangible benefits of our efforts to combat tax evasion and will recognize this significant national achievement.”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the administration's commitment to further tax reductions and pointed out that upcoming legislative actions, such as the out-of-court settlement mechanism, are designed to strengthen both macroeconomic policy and real economic growth. “This approach has already led to decreased unemployment and the creation of quality job opportunities,” he concluded.
