Greece’s 2Q jobless rate drops to 11.2%; Long-term unemployment at 59.9%
Greece’s second quarter jobless rate stood at 11.2%, down from the previous quarter’s reading of 11.8% and the year-ago figure of 12.4%, National Statistics Office or ELSTAT said. People-out-of work reached 533.3K. Long-term unemployment remained high, at 59.9%.

Greece’s second quarter jobless rate stood at 11.2%, down from the previous quarter’s reading of 11.8% and the year-ago figure of 12.4%, National Statistics Office or ELSTAT said.  People-out-of work reached 533.3K.  Long-term unemployment remained high, at 59.9%. 

The number of persons outside the labor force amounted to 4.27 million. 

"The highest unemployment rates are observed among women, persons aged up to 24 years, in the Region of Ionioi Nisoi (Ionian Islands), and persons that have completed less than primary education," ELSTAT said in a press release.
