Viohalco experienced a sharp drop in the first half profits compared to the year-ago period, citing the softened demand for the aluminium and steel products, the increased energy prices and inflationary pressures.

Profits amounted to just 37 million euros from 207 million euros in the respective period of 2022.

Adjusted EBITDA came in at  269 million euros versus 355 million euros in the respective period of  2022.

“Revenue reduction and inflationary pressures were the main causes for this decline,” Viohalco said.

Revenues dropped 6.5% y-o-y,  to 3.4 billion euros.
