Stocks in Athens fell slightly, struggling for direction; OTE outperforms

Equities traded slightly down in high volatility at midday. The market is struggling to find direction, assessing international and local developments. Brokers argue that many emerging markets fund exited Athens, after the re-gaining of the investment grade status bye DBRS.
“This is a transitional period for the market,” a stock dealer said. “For now, the supply is much higher than demand.”
At 1507 local time, the general share index was down 0.4% to 1195 points, off-intra-day lows.
Banks tried to stage a rebound, after their bruising losses in the previous sessions. NBG gained 2.6%, Alpha +1.4%.
OTE has come under investors’ spotlight, +2.6%.
