Greece’s current account surplus dropped in July, due to a deterioration in the primary and secondary income accounts, while the balance of goods and the balance of services improved, Bank of Greece said.

The current account surplus fell by 135.2 million y-on-y to stand at 827.5 million euros.

A decrease in the deficit of the balance of goods is accounted for by a larger drop in imports than in exports, the central bank said.
Also, the  services balance surplus increased. “Non-residents’ arrivals rose by 15.8% and the relevant receipts increased by 15.1% compared with July 2022.”

In January-July period, the current account deficit decreased by 3.6 billion euros y-o-y to stand at 7.0 billion euros.
