Syriza voters in runoff leadership ballot between Kasselakis and Achtsioglou

The politically dismantled Syriza’s supporters will vote for the leadership of the party in a runoff election between Stefanos Kasselakis and Effie Achtsioglou next weekend.
With 484 of 570 precincts reporting, Stefanos Kasselakis leads with 45.47%, followed by Achtsioglou (36.21%), Nikos Pappas (8.64%), Euclid Tsakalotos (8.40%) and Stefanos Tzoumakas (1.28%).
According to the official data, 146,635 voted, about 40,000 of whom were registered as members on the spot.
Kasselakis, a 35 -year-old former CEO of a shipping company was an unconventional choice, as he lacks any prior political activity.
Achtsioglou, 38, a former Labor Minister, was considered the frontrunner in the party’s elections, before Kasselakis’ candidacy changed the calculus.
