Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis rejected vehemently any government reshuffle scenarios, promising a revamp of the country’s civil protection systems.

 

In a press conference at the 87th Thessaloniki International Fair, Mitsotakis faced harsh criticism over the handling of the deadly floods which claimed the lives of 17 people in the region of Thessaly 10 -days ago. 

 

Mitsotakis spoke of “climate war” and stressed the need to strengthen EU-wide programs to fight the effects of the climate crisis. 

 

“I will not rest until I manage to convince my counterparts” across the EU “of the need to strengthen the EU Solidarity Fund,” he said.
