Stocks in Athens edged higher in early trade, in line with Europe’s trends. The European Central Bank’s interest rate decision is closely monitored. Observers do not rule out a 25-basis-point hike which will send Europe's key interest rate to a record peak. Traders argue that a mild rebound could be possible, as the stock market is in an oversold territory.

At 1103 local time, the general share index was up 0.2% to 1228 points.

Notable mover in early trade was NBG +0.9%.
