European stocks are lower, as the higher-for-longer interest rates cast doubts for a speedy economic recovery. At home, PPC’s strong showing gave a mild push to the broader market.
Higher interest rates in Europe will put pressure on the credit ratings of the region's companies and banks, S&P Global said on Tuesday.
The generals hare index ended 0.3% higher to 1219 points. Some 75 million euros worth of stocks exchanged hands.
Top performers were Ellaktor +4%, PPC +3.3%, Helleniq Energy +2.6%, Piraeus +1.9%.
