Bank credit to Greek private sector contracts further in Aug
Bank credit to Greece’s private sector contracted to 0.9% in August from 1.2% in the previous month.
Bank credit to Greece’s private sector contracted to 0.9% in August from 1.2% in the previous month, central bank data showed. The monthly net flow of credit was negative by 401 million euros compared with a negative net flow of 1.35 billion euros in July, Bank of Greece said on Wednesday.
The net flow of credit to corporations was negative by 319 million euros, compared with a positive net flow of 1.2 billion euros in the previous month.
Bank credit to households and private non-profit institutions was negative by 67 million euros, compared with a negative net flow of 74 million euros in the previous month.
