Equities in Athens closed lower on Friday, with the Athens bourse suffering losses for sixth consecutive weeks. Profit-taking in non-financials drove the market sharply lower, breaking critical technical points. 

Amid an uneventful local agenda, local titles follow international gloomy trends. European stocks turned negative on Friday as investors reacted to stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data.

The general share index fell 1.5% to close at 1137 points. Banks lost 1.4%. 

Notable decliners were Coca Cola HBC -3.4%, PPC -3.1%, OTE -2.5%, Mytilineos -2.2%.
