Stocks in Athens traded higher early Wednesday, but European markets opened lower after clocking their best one-day performance in nearly a year. Some profit-taking is seen possible after Tuesday’s hectic gains. Geopolitical concerns and US CPI data on Thursday should set the tone in coming sessions.
At 1042 local time, the general share index was up 0.2% to 1160 points. However, banks were down 0.3%.
Among individual stocks, Helleniq Energy was up 2.4%, Aegean +2%.
