Investors rotate into non-financials, maintaining the upward momentum

Shares in Athens closed higher on Wednesday, extending Tuesday’s “oversold bounce”, as analysts said, after six weeks of consecutive losses. The IMF estimates that Greece’s fiscal shape will improve next years amid rising primary surpluses and significant drop of public debt.
The general share index added 1.6% to close at 1175 points. Turnover amounted to 101 million euros.
Top performers were Cenergy +3.6%, Aegean +3.6, Titan +3.5%, PPC +3.2%, Motor Oil +3.1%. In contrast, OTE fell 1.3%.
Banks added 1.4%, with Alpha outperforming the sector, +3.1%.
