Shares traded higher in early trade, but investors remain cautious, fearing further escalation in the Middle East crisis. Still, low volumes do not leave room for sustainable upside.

Shares traded higher in early trade, but investors remain cautious, fearing further escalation in the Middle East crisis. Still, low volumes do not leave room for sustainable upside. 

At 1120 local time, the general share index added 1.0% to 1186 points. Banks outperformed the broader market with gains of 2%. Alpha was up 2.7%, Eurobank +2.2%, Piraeus +1.7%, NBG +1.3%. 

Also, Aegean gained +2.8%, Mytilineos +2.5%, Helleniq Energy +2.3%.
