Stocks in Athens were slightly higher at midday, erasing early sharper gains. Europe’s mixed performances and developments surrounding the turmoil in Middle East are closely monitored by investors, who remain sidelined. 

At 1350 local time, the general share index was up 0.2% to 1176 points, retreating from early highs of 1192 points. 

Notable movers were Aegean +2.2%, Alpha +2%, Mytilineos +1.7%.
