Stocks in Athens traded lower early Friday, following Europe’s declines amid growing fears about a wider Middle East conflict, rising government bond yields and weaker than expected corporate reports. At home, investors are awaiting S&P’s verdict on Greece’s economic shape in today’s rating review. A one-notch upgrade will lift the country’s ratings to investment grade status.  

At 1059 local time, the general share index fell 0.6% to 1171 points. The banking index was gaining by 0.5%.

Elsewhere, Aegean was losing 2%, Coca Cola HBC -0.9%.
