Shares ended lower on Wednesday, in high volatility with the general index visiting both territories. Volumes were light. Profit-taking among banks and especially Alpha, after Tuesday’s double-digit growth featured. Europe fell on mixed earning reports. 

The general share index slipped 1% to close at 1185 points. Some 66 million euros worth of stocks exchanged hands. 

Among individual stocks, Alpha lost 3.3%, Piraeus -2.6%, Helleniq Energy -1.9%.
